Formula Used
The calculator uses probability complement logic. Single case odds are converted from percent to decimal. The chance of missing the target in one case is 1 minus the drop odds. The chance of missing the target across many cases is that value raised to the number of cases.
At least one target drop = 1 - (1 - single odds)number of cases.
Expected drops = number of cases × single odds. Total cost = number of cases × (case price + key price). Expected return = number of cases × average drop value. Expected profit = expected return - total cost.

Article: Understanding CSGO Case Odds
What This Calculator Does
A case odds calculator helps estimate possible results before opening cases. It does not promise any exact drop. Each case remains random. Still, probability can show useful risk patterns. This tool converts case quantity, rarity odds, costs, and estimated values into practical numbers. It shows the chance of getting at least one target rarity. It also estimates expected drops, total cost, return, and possible loss.
Why Odds Matter
Case opening can feel exciting. It can also become expensive very quickly. A low rarity percentage means the target item may need many attempts. For example, a Covert item has a much smaller chance than a Mil-Spec item. Special rare items are even harder to receive. Looking at the odds first helps users understand the gap between hope and probability.
Expected Value
Expected value is an average estimate over many openings. It is not a guarantee for one session. You may open ten cases and receive nothing valuable. Another user may receive a rare item early. Over a large number of cases, the average result moves closer to the calculated expectation. This is why the calculator includes expected drops and expected return.
Cost Planning
Total cost is important. The case price and key price both affect the final spend. A cheap case can still become costly after many openings. The break even average tells you what each opened case must return. If your average drop value is lower than this amount, the estimate shows a loss. Market fees can reduce real returns further.
Using Results Safely
Use the result as a planning tool. Do not treat it as a winning prediction. Random drops can vary widely. The safest approach is to set a fixed budget. Stop when that budget is reached. Compare the expected cost with directly buying the item. In many cases, direct purchase is more predictable. This calculator makes those comparisons easier and clearer.
FAQs
What is a CSGO case odds calculator?
It estimates the chance of receiving selected rarity drops from case openings. It also calculates cost, expected drops, expected return, and possible profit or loss.
Does this calculator guarantee a drop?
No. It only estimates probability. Every case opening is random, so actual results can be better or worse than the calculated values.
What does at least one chance mean?
It means the probability of getting one or more target rarity drops after opening your selected number of cases.
What are expected drops?
Expected drops show the average number of target rarity items you may receive over many openings using the selected odds.
Why is expected profit often negative?
Case opening usually has low rare item odds and high total cost. Average returns may not cover the case and key expense.
Can I use custom item values?
Yes. Enter your own target item value and average drop value. This helps match your local market estimate or personal tracking data.
What is the break even average?
It is the average value each opened case must return to cover your total case and key cost.
Should I open cases or buy items directly?
The calculator helps compare both choices. Direct buying is usually more predictable, while case opening carries high uncertainty and risk.
