Formula Used

Target Soul Level = total target attributes - 53.

Levels Added = target soul level - starting class soul level.

Agility = 80 + ((ATN + 3 × ADP) ÷ 4), when the value is 120 or lower.

High Agility = 110 + (((ATN + 3 × ADP) - 120) ÷ 28), when the value is higher than 120.

Equip Load = (38 + Vitality × 1.5) × (1 + load bonus ÷ 100).

Burden = total equipment weight ÷ equip load × 100.

Estimated AR = base AR + upgrade bonus + scaling estimate. It is reduced when requirements are missing.

Focus Score compares your chosen build style with the stats that usually support that style.

Dark Souls 2 Build Planning Guide

A strong Dark Souls 2 build starts before the first soul is spent. Each class has fixed starting points. Those points decide how efficient a finished build feels. A knight may save levels for sturdy melee. A sorcerer may save levels for spell power. This calculator helps compare those choices.

Stats should support one clear job. Vigor improves survival. Endurance improves repeated actions. Vitality helps armor and weapons fit under a usable load. Attunement opens spell slots. Strength and Dexterity handle weapon requirements and scaling. Adaptability and Attunement shape Agility. Intelligence and Faith support spells, infusions, and hybrid paths.

Agility deserves special care. It affects dodge safety and item use speed. Many players plan around practical breakpoints. A low Agility value can make rolls feel late. A higher value can make healing feel safer. The calculator estimates this from Attunement and Adaptability.

Equipment load also matters. Heavy armor can help poise. It can also shorten rolls. Keeping burden under a planned range makes movement easier. The tool checks armor, weapon, shield, ring, and extra weight together. It then compares that weight with estimated carrying power.

Weapon planning prevents wasted levels. Enter weapon requirements before choosing final stats. The calculator checks one hand or two hand Strength use. It also estimates attack rating from base power, upgrade bonus, and scaling grades. The value is a planning estimate. Real damage still depends on defenses, counter hits, infusions, rings, and buffs.

Use the score as a focus meter. A high score means the selected style matches the entered stats. A low score does not mean the build is bad. It means the build is mixed or unfinished. Hybrids can be powerful. They just need more levels and tighter gear choices.

Review the warnings after each calculation. They highlight missing requirements, high burden, low core stats, or weak Agility. Adjust one area at a time. Then export the result. A saved file makes it easier to compare several plans before leveling in Majula.

For best results, keep several versions. Make one safe plan. Make one damage plan. Make one fashion plan. Compare levels, burden, and Agility. The best build is the one you can play well consistently today.

FAQs

1. What does this calculator do?

It plans a Dark Souls 2 build using class stats, target attributes, equipment weight, agility, weapon requirements, and scaling estimates.

2. Is the attack rating exact?

No. It is a planning estimate. Real damage depends on enemy defense, upgrades, infusions, buffs, counter hits, and special weapon rules.

3. Why is Agility important?

Agility affects roll safety and item use speed. More Agility can make dodging and healing feel safer during difficult fights.

4. Why are some stats raised automatically?

A starting class cannot go below its base stats. The calculator keeps target values at or above the selected class minimums.

5. What burden should I aim for?

Many builds try to stay below 70 percent. Lower burden can improve movement feel and stamina recovery comfort.

6. Does two-handing affect Dexterity?

No. The two-handed option only improves the Strength requirement check. Dexterity, Intelligence, and Faith requirements remain unchanged.

7. What is the focus score?

It compares your stats with the chosen build style. It helps show whether the build is focused, mixed, or unfinished.

8. Can I export my build?

Yes. Use the CSV button for spreadsheet records. Use the PDF button for a simple printable summary.
