Example Data Table
| Your SL | Mode | Level Range | Your WL | Weapon Range | Use Case |

| 55 | White Sign | 39 to 70 | 10 | 4 to 15 | Mid game support |
| 90 | Dark Spirit | 81 to 109 | 15 | 9 to 15 | Late game invasion |
Formula Used
Most sign matching uses this structure: lower level equals SL minus 10 minus 10 percent of SL. Upper level equals SL plus 10 plus 10 percent of SL.
Invasion mode uses a tighter lower side in this calculator. Lower level equals SL minus 10 percent of SL. Upper level equals SL plus 10 plus 10 percent of SL.
Weapon matching is only applied when Remastered mode is selected. Weapon level zero to three allows five levels down and five up. Weapon level four to nine allows five down and six up. Weapon level ten to fifteen allows six down and six up.
How to Use This Calculator
Choose your game edition first. Select the match type next. Enter your soul level and the other player level. Add both weapon levels when using Remastered mode. Choose password status, area boss status, host form, and region setting. Press calculate. The result appears above the form and below the header. Use CSV or PDF export for a saved report.
Dark Souls Summon Range Guide
Why Matching Matters
Dark Souls multiplayer feels simple at first. You place a sign, wait, and hope another player sees it. Behind that moment sits a careful range system. The game checks soul level first. In Remastered, it also checks the highest weapon level reached by each player. This calculator brings those checks into one clear form.
Plan Better Co-op
Co-op works best when both players understand the limits. A host may be close in level, but a high weapon tier can still block visibility in Remastered mode. The tool helps you test both values before you wait near a bonfire. It also reminds you about human form, area boss status, and region setting.
Use Match Types Carefully
White signs are common for boss help. Red signs are often used for planned duels. Dark Spirit invasion ranges work differently, so this tool gives them a separate option. Dragon and Gravelord signs are also separated because password behavior may not match standard co-op signs. Custom rules are included for players who want to test house rules, community notes, or future adjustments.
Weapon Level Notes
Weapon level can confuse new players. The game remembers the highest upgrade tier reached. Removing or storing the item may not lower that value. This is why a low-level build can suddenly stop seeing early signs. Enter the highest weapon level you have reached, not only the weapon currently equipped.
Password Matching
Password matching can help friends connect in Remastered mode. This calculator treats password bypass as active for white and red sign modes only. Other modes keep normal checks. If a match still fails, check area rules, boss state, network settings, and platform status. The result should guide planning, not replace in-game testing.
Export Your Result
The CSV option creates a spreadsheet-friendly report. The PDF option creates a simple printable summary. Use them when comparing several builds. This makes it easier to plan co-op characters, duel brackets, and invasion ranges.
FAQs
What does soul level range mean?
It is the normal level window where another player may connect with you. The range changes by match type and your current soul level.
Does weapon level matter?
Weapon level matters in Remastered mode. The original release does not use this added weapon matching check in this calculator.
Should I enter my current weapon?
Enter the highest weapon level your character has reached. The game can remember that value even when you no longer use the item.
Does a password always bypass ranges?
No. This tool only treats password bypass as active for supported white and red sign matching in Remastered mode.
Why is my friend still not visible?
Check humanity, boss status, area limits, region settings, online status, and platform connection. Range is only one part of visibility.
Can I use this for invasions?
Yes. Select Dark Spirit Invasion. The calculator applies a separate invasion rule and still checks weapon range in Remastered mode.
What does custom rule set do?
It lets you test your own fixed and percentage limits. Use it for community variants, notes, or experimental build planning.
Why export CSV or PDF?
Exports help you save builds, compare ranges, and share planned co-op or invasion brackets with other players.
