Formula Used

Fuel vehicle yearly cost = annual miles ÷ MPG × fuel price.

Electric yearly cost = annual miles × kWh per mile × charging loss factor × electricity rate.

Annual operating savings = fuel cost savings + maintenance savings - insurance extra - registration extra.

Net upfront difference = EV price - fuel vehicle price - incentives + charger cost.
