Formula Used

Expected Pick: Snake drafts reverse order on even rounds. Linear drafts keep the same order each round.

VORP: Projected Points - Replacement Points.

Risk Adjusted Value: VORP × [1 - Risk% × (100 - Risk Tolerance) / 10000].

ADP Value: (Average Draft Position - Expected Pick) × 0.35.

Scarcity Value: VORP × (Scarcity Multiplier - 1).

Need Value: Roster Need Score × Need Weight%.

Final Score: Risk Adjusted Value + ADP Value + Scarcity Value + Need Value + Keeper Value + Stack Bonus.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft Strategy

Why Mock Draft Scores Matter

A fantasy football mock draft calculator turns loose opinions into ranked draft choices. It helps you compare a player’s projection, market cost, positional scarcity, and roster fit before your real draft begins. The goal is not to predict every pick perfectly. The goal is to practice better decisions when the clock is running.

How Mock Drafts Reveal Patterns

Mock drafts are valuable because they reveal patterns. You can see where running backs dry up, when quarterbacks become bargains, and how league mates may chase upside. A calculator adds structure to that practice. It converts each candidate into a score you can compare across positions and rounds.

Projection And Replacement Value

This tool uses projected points as the starting point. Then it subtracts replacement level value. That difference estimates how much a player helps above a typical starter or bench option. A player with strong projections but little edge over replacement may be less useful than a scarce position with a smaller raw total.

Risk, ADP, And Timing

Risk adjustment is also important. Injury history, role uncertainty, crowded depth charts, and coaching changes can lower confidence. The calculator discounts projected points by risk percentage. This keeps one exciting name from winning only because the projection is aggressive.

ADP value measures timing. When a player’s average draft position is later than your expected pick, the value is weak. When your pick is later than market price, the player may be slipping. This does not mean every reach is bad. It simply shows the price you are paying.

Advanced Draft Inputs

Scarcity and keeper inputs make the calculator more advanced. A position that loses quality quickly can receive a higher multiplier. A keeper with a cheap round cost can receive a strong bonus. Stack bonuses help when you want a quarterback with a receiver or tight end.

Using The Final Score

Use the final score as a guide, not a rule. Draft rooms change fast. Injuries, runs, and personal strategy matter. The best result comes from combining the score with your roster plan. Review the table after each mock draft. Adjust the projections, risk values, and scarcity numbers until the rankings match your league. Then export the result and keep it beside your draft board. Save several versions so you can compare aggressive, balanced, and safe builds before choosing your favorite draft path.

FAQs

What does this mock draft calculator do?

It ranks fantasy football draft candidates using projections, replacement value, ADP, risk, scarcity, keeper value, roster need, and stack bonuses.

Can I use it for snake drafts?

Yes. Select snake draft style. The calculator reverses pick order on even rounds and estimates your expected overall pick.

What is VORP?

VORP means value over replacement player. It compares a player’s projected points against a typical available player at that position.

How should I set scarcity multiplier?

Use higher values for thin positions. For example, elite tight ends may deserve a larger multiplier than deep wide receiver groups.

What does risk tolerance change?

Higher risk tolerance reduces the penalty for uncertain players. Lower risk tolerance favors safer projections and stable roles.

Should the top score always be my pick?

No. Treat the score as guidance. Your roster build, league tendencies, injuries, and draft room runs still matter.

What is stack bonus?

Stack bonus adds value when a player pairs well with another rostered player, such as a quarterback and receiver combination.

Can I export the result?

Yes. After calculating, use the CSV or PDF buttons to save the ranked draft result for later review.
