Formula Used
XP needed = target XP - current XP.
Effective XP = base XP × (1 + bonus percent ÷ 100) × success rate.
Actions needed = ceiling of XP needed ÷ effective XP.
Logs to buy = actions needed - owned logs.
Net market cost = actions needed × price - actions needed × return value.
Total time = active training time + estimated banking time.

Firemaking Planning Guide
Firemaking is simple, but planning saves coins and time. This calculator helps you compare logs, bonuses, cost, stock, and speed before you train. It works best when you enter your exact experience from the game. You can also use levels when you only need a fast estimate.
Why Careful Planning Helps
Each log gives a fixed base experience in many training methods. Bonus experience changes the final value per action. Price changes the total cost. Return value can lower that cost when ashes, rewards, or saved items matter. Small changes become large when thousands of logs are needed.
Choosing a Method
Start with the log or activity that matches your account. Normal logs are cheap and low level. Maple, yew, magic, and redwood logs usually support faster planning. A custom option is included because wiki values, events, and special activities can change. Enter the method experience shown on your trusted source.
Using Bonuses Correctly
Add only bonuses that apply to your method. Outfit boosts, event boosts, portable boosts, and temporary boosts should be entered as percentages. The calculator combines them into one effective experience value. It also includes success rate, which is useful for rough attempts or special methods.
Reading the Result
The result shows experience remaining, effective experience per action, actions required, time needed, logs to buy, gross cost, return value, and net cost. If you enter a budget, it also estimates how far that budget can take you. The progress value shows how close your current experience is to your target.
Exporting the Plan
Use the CSV file for spreadsheets. Use the PDF file for a quick saved plan. These files include inputs and results, so you can compare several training paths. Make one result for each method. Then choose the plan that fits your coins, time, and goal.
Advanced Checks
Advanced users should test several prices and speeds. Market prices move during busy training seasons. Your clicks per hour may also differ from guide numbers. Owned logs reduce the purchase amount, but they still have an opportunity cost. Treat the final net cost as a planning estimate, not a guaranteed bill. Repeat the calculation after each level milestone for better control and spending checks.
FAQs
What does this Firemaking calculator estimate?
It estimates XP needed, actions required, logs to buy, cost, return value, profit or loss, time, and budget reach for a chosen Firemaking method.
Should I enter level or exact experience?
Exact experience is better. Level input uses the standard experience table and starts from that level minimum, so it is only an estimate.
What is custom XP per action?
Use custom XP when your selected wiki method, event method, or special activity has a different experience value than the preset list.
How do bonuses work?
Enter the total bonus percentage that applies to your method. The calculator multiplies base experience by that bonus and the success rate.
Why is success rate included?
Some methods may fail, vary, or need rough planning. Lowering success rate reduces effective experience and increases actions needed.
Does this use live prices?
No. Enter your own current price. This keeps the page simple and lets you update prices from any trusted market source.
What does return value mean?
Return value is any value gained per action. It can include ashes, rewards, saved supplies, or other recoverable value.
Can I export my result?
Yes. After calculation, use the CSV button for spreadsheets or the PDF button for a compact saved training summary.
