Formula Used

Year pillar: The year index is calculated as birth year minus 4, modulo 60. When the solar option is active, dates before about February 4 use the previous year.

Month pillar: The branch follows approximate solar month boundaries. Yin begins near February 4. The month stem starts from the year stem group and moves one stem for each month.

Day pillar: The calculator converts the date to a Julian Day Number. It then uses the sixty cycle offset to find the day stem and branch.

Hour pillar: The branch uses two hour blocks. Zi covers 23:00 to 00:59. The hour stem depends on the Day Master stem group.

Element balance: Visible stems receive one point. Hidden stems receive weighted points from their branch. Percentages are based on total weighted points.

Four Pillars of Destiny Guide

What the Chart Shows

A Four Pillars of Destiny calculator turns birth data into a structured BaZi chart. It uses the year, month, day, and hour pillars. Each pillar contains one Heavenly Stem and one Earthly Branch. These parts form a sixty step cycle. The chart is often used for reflection, timing, and personal planning.

Why the Day Master Matters

This tool focuses on practical output. It displays the Day Master first. That stem represents the central reference point. The other stems are compared with it. The calculator also shows animal signs, hidden stems, visible elements, and yin-yang quality. Element balance is summarized with percentages. Strong and weak elements are listed for fast review.

Advanced Options

The advanced options make the chart more useful. You can apply an approximate solar year start. You can also apply approximate solar month boundaries. These settings follow common BaZi practice. They are not a full astronomical ephemeris. The local solar time option adjusts the birth clock by longitude. This can help when a birth place sits far from its time zone meridian.

Reading the Result

Results should be read with care. BaZi is a symbolic system. It is not a medical, legal, or financial rule. A strong element does not mean success alone. A weak element does not mean failure. The balance simply shows which qualities appear more often in the chart. Wood may suggest growth. Fire may suggest visibility. Earth may suggest stability. Metal may suggest structure. Water may suggest movement and thought.

Saving the Chart

The formula section explains each step. The example table shows sample inputs and expected style of output. Export buttons help save the chart for records. CSV works well for spreadsheets. PDF works well for sharing or printing. For best results, enter the recorded local birth time. Then check whether solar time is useful for your location. Finally, read the chart as a guide for reflection, not as a fixed prediction. A calculator can organize the symbols. Your own judgment should guide decisions.

Extra Interpretation Layer

The month pillar often receives extra attention because it reflects seasonal force. The hour pillar can add nuance for later aims, children, habits, or private plans. The year pillar gives a wider social frame. The day branch adds partner and home themes. Together, the four pillars provide layered symbols for calm study.

FAQs

1. What is a Four Pillars chart?

It is a BaZi style chart based on birth year, month, day, and hour. Each pillar has a Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch.

2. Is this calculator fully astronomical?

No. It uses practical approximate solar boundaries. A full professional chart may use exact solar terms from an ephemeris.

3. What is the Day Master?

The Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of the day pillar. Other stems are compared with it for relationship labels.

4. Why does birth time matter?

Birth time creates the hour pillar. It can change the branch, stem, hidden stems, and element balance.

5. Should I use local solar time?

Use it when the birth location sits far from the time zone meridian. It adjusts clock time by longitude.

6. What do hidden stems mean?

Hidden stems are stems stored inside each Earthly Branch. They add more detail to element balance and interpretation.

7. Can I export the chart?

Yes. Use the CSV button for spreadsheet records. Use the PDF button for printing or sharing.

8. Is this a prediction tool?

It is best used for symbolic reflection. Do not treat the result as fixed advice for major decisions.
