Formula Used

Each zodiac sign has 30 degrees. A D10 chart divides every sign into ten parts.

One D10 division = 30 degrees ÷ 10 = 3 degrees.

Division number = floor(degree inside sign ÷ 3) + 1.

For movable signs, counting starts from the same sign. For fixed signs, counting starts from the ninth sign. For dual signs, counting starts from the fifth sign.

D10 house = ((planet D10 sign - ascendant D10 sign + 12) mod 12) + 1.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Collect accurate planetary longitudes from one chart source.
  2. Enter sign, degree, minute, and second for each body.
  3. Keep Rahu and Ketu opposite if your source uses true nodes.
  4. Press the calculate button.
  5. Read the D10 sign, house, and career score.
  6. Download the CSV or PDF report for later study.

Understanding a D10 Chart

The D10 chart is also called the Dashamsa chart. It is a divisional chart used in Vedic astrology. It focuses on career, duty, recognition, authority, and public work. A birth chart shows the main promise. The D10 chart refines that promise for profession.

What This Calculator Does

This calculator accepts zodiac longitudes for the ascendant and planets. It divides each sign into ten equal parts. Every part covers three degrees. The tool then maps each part to a new D10 sign. It also calculates the D10 house from the D10 ascendant. This gives a clean professional placement table.

Why Manual Longitudes Matter

Accurate longitudes improve every result. You can take values from an ephemeris, a birth chart program, or a trusted astrology report. Enter degrees, minutes, and seconds carefully. Small errors near a three degree border can change the D10 sign. Always review the input table before saving the report.

Career Reading Notes

The first house can show career identity. The sixth house can show service, routine, and competition. The tenth house is important for status and visible action. The eleventh house can show gains, networks, and fulfillment. Planets in angular houses can make results more visible. Repeated signs may show a strong professional pattern.

Using the Results

Start with the D10 ascendant. Then check the tenth house from it. Note which planets occupy career houses. Compare natal signs with D10 signs. A planet in the same sign in both charts is marked as vargottama here. This can show consistency in expression. Use the score as a quick guide only. A complete reading needs the main chart, dashas, aspects, strength, and real life context.

Best Practice

Use this calculator as a structured worksheet. Save CSV files for spreadsheets. Save PDF reports for client notes or personal study. Recalculate after correcting any birth data. The chart is symbolic. It should support thoughtful reflection, not replace practical career planning, skill building, or professional advice.

Limitations to Remember

The calculator does not fetch live planetary positions. It depends on values you provide. It also uses one common Dashamsa rule. Traditions may vary. Keep notes about your source, ayanamsa, birth time, and software settings for consistent future comparison and review.

FAQs

What is a D10 chart?

A D10 chart, or Dashamsa chart, is a divisional chart used in Vedic astrology. It is mainly studied for career, status, duty, authority, and professional development.

Does this calculator create birth longitudes automatically?

No. This calculator needs longitudes entered manually. Use one reliable astrology program, ephemeris, or report. Then enter sign, degree, minute, and second.

Why is each division three degrees?

Each zodiac sign has thirty degrees. The D10 system divides one sign into ten equal parts. Thirty divided by ten equals three degrees.

What are movable, fixed, and dual signs?

Movable signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Dual signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.

What does the D10 house show?

The D10 house shows where a planet acts in the professional chart. It is measured from the D10 ascendant, not from the natal ascendant.

What is a vargottama placement here?

In this tool, a planet is marked vargottama when its natal sign and D10 sign match. It can suggest a consistent expression.

Can I use tropical longitudes?

Yes, but keep your system consistent. Do not mix tropical and sidereal values in the same calculation. Consistency gives cleaner results.

Is the career score a final prediction?

No. The score is only a quick worksheet indicator. A full reading should include the main chart, timing periods, strengths, aspects, and real career facts.
