Area equations and adjustment logic

Rectangle: area = length × width. Circle: area = π × radius². Planar polygon: the calculator uses the shoelace formula, which sums paired coordinate products around a closed boundary.

Geographic polygon: latitude and longitude points use a spherical geodesic area approximation. Slope factor: √(1 + (slope ÷ 100)²). Final area: ((base area × slope factor) − exclusions) × (1 + buffer ÷ 100).

The slope option estimates surface coverage. Keep it disabled when you need a horizontal map footprint.
