How UT Grade Points Work
UT Austin uses plus and minus grades for most undergraduate and graduate coursework. An A equals 4.00 points. An A- equals 3.67 points. A B+ equals 3.33 points. The pattern continues down to F, which equals zero. Courses with symbols such as CR, Q, W, or X are normally not counted in this estimate. Law grades are different, so this tool is not meant for law GPA planning.
Semester And Cumulative Planning
The semester GPA section shows the average for the courses entered in the form. The cumulative section combines your prior GPA hours and grade points with the new term. You may enter current GPA and hours, or you may enter exact grade points from an academic record. Exact points give the best estimate.
