Why Build Balance Matters
The tool looks at damage, survival, resource comfort, mastery investment, and devotion progress. Each area matters because Grim Dawn rewards balanced characters. A build with high damage can still fail when resistances are low. A defensive build can also feel slow if damage and offensive ability stay behind.
Use the calculator when comparing two class combinations, checking a leveling setup, or reviewing an endgame plan. Enter your current stats from the character screen. Then add resistance values, devotion points, mastery points, and skill points used. The result shows a rating, a tier, and practical notes.
How The Score Helps
The score is not a replacement for real testing. It helps planning. Enemy types, damage conversion, item procs, cooldowns, and player style still change performance. However, the estimate gives a useful starting point. It reveals weak areas.
The resistance score is especially useful. Many new builds focus on weapons and forget defense. Low aether, chaos, poison, or pierce resistance can punish a character in later acts. The average resistance value highlights that risk.
The damage score uses base damage, offensive ability, and critical damage. These values show how well a build can pressure enemies. The survival score uses health, armor, defensive ability, armor absorption, and resistance average. These values show how long the character may stay stable.
The final rating combines weighted scores. This makes the result easier to compare across builds. A high rating means the build appears balanced. A medium rating means it may need tuning. A low rating means one or more core areas need attention.
