Formula Used

HP per liter = horsepower ÷ displacement in liters

If wheel horsepower is entered, the calculator estimates crank horsepower first.

Crank HP = wheel HP ÷ (1 - drivetrain loss ÷ 100)

If torque and rpm are used, horsepower is estimated first.

Horsepower = torque in lb-ft × rpm ÷ 5252

Displacement conversions are also applied. Cubic centimeters are divided by 1000. Cubic inches are multiplied by 0.016387064.
