Smart IV Planning for Ultra Sun
Individual Values shape a Pokémon’s final stats. They range from zero to thirty one. Higher values usually mean stronger natural potential. This calculator helps players reverse those values from visible battle data.
Why IVs Matter
Ultra Sun uses IVs in every stat formula. A single point can matter during speed ties, damage rolls, and defensive benchmarks. Breeders also use IVs when planning parents, Destiny Knot transfers, and competitive movesets. By checking possible ranges, you can decide whether a Pokémon is worth training.
Accurate Input Makes Better Results
The tool needs level, nature, base stats, EVs, and current stats. Enter numbers from the summary screen after EV training is known. If EVs are unknown, use zero first, then compare the result with your training notes. Incorrect EVs are the most common reason for impossible results.
How the Calculator Works
Each stat is tested against every IV from zero to thirty one. The matching values become the possible IV range. HP uses its own formula. Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed also apply the selected nature multiplier. The calculator then estimates total potential and possible Hidden Power types.
Useful Breeding Decisions
A perfect value appears as Best. A value near perfect may still be useful. For example, special attackers often ignore Attack. Trick Room teams may prefer low Speed. This means the best result depends on your team plan, not only the highest total.
When No Exact Match Appears
No match usually means one input is wrong. Check the Pokémon level, nature, EVs, and base stats. Also confirm that no temporary battle boost is included. The nearest IV hint can still show which input may be close.
CSV and PDF Reports
Export options help save breeding checks. CSV files are useful for spreadsheets. PDF files are useful for sharing simple reports. You can record several Pokémon and compare their ranges before choosing parents.
Final Training Tip
Calculate IVs before spending rare items. Then train EVs only after the Pokémon passes your target range. This habit saves time and helps build cleaner teams. Keep one record per catch, because stored notes reveal patterns across eggs, chains, raids, and later team experiments during careful breeding sessions.
