KOTOR Attribute Planning Guide
A strong build starts with clear attribute goals. Knights of the Old Republic uses six core attributes. Strength helps melee accuracy and melee damage. Dexterity supports ranged attacks and defense. Constitution improves vitality. Intelligence raises skill planning. Wisdom improves Force power reliability. Charisma helps Force use and companion friendly dialogue checks.
Why Attributes Matter
Every two points above ten usually gives one extra modifier. A score of fourteen gives a plus two modifier. A score of eight gives a minus one modifier. These modifiers are small alone. They become important across many attacks, saves, skills, and Force checks. A build that spreads points too widely may feel weak. A focused build usually performs better.
Planning Point Costs
The starting cost is not always linear. Raising a score from eight to fourteen is cheaper. Scores above fourteen become more expensive. That is why this calculator shows total point cost and remaining points. It helps you see whether one high score is worth the lost balance elsewhere.
Level Boost Strategy
Characters gain planned attribute boosts during leveling. Most players place these boosts into their main combat or Force attribute. A melee Guardian may push Strength. A ranged Scoundrel may favor Dexterity. A Consular often values Wisdom and Charisma. The best choice depends on gear, class mix, feats, and party role.
Using Final Results
The final table shows each score, modifier, cost, level boost, and item bonus. It also estimates attack values, defense, saves, vitality, Force points, and skill points. These values are guides, not a replacement for in game testing. Equipment, feats, implants, powers, armor limits, and difficulty can change real performance.
Build Advice
Use the warnings and notes to find weak areas. Low Constitution can hurt survivability. Low Dexterity can reduce defense when armor allows it. Low Wisdom can weaken Force control. High Intelligence is helpful when you want more skills. Review the result, adjust one field, and compare again. Small changes often create a cleaner build.
Exporting Results
The CSV option is useful for spreadsheets and build logs. The PDF option gives a quick printable summary. Save both when comparing several class paths. Clear records make it easier to repeat a successful character later with notes.
