Gross wall area: (wall length × wall height × wall count) + ((gable width × gable height ÷ 2) × gable count)

Opening deduction: (windows × width × height) + (doors × width × height) + extra openings

Net siding area: gross wall area - opening deduction

Order area: net siding area × (1 + waste percentage ÷ 100)

Lap board coverage: board length × exposed face ÷ 12

Panel coverage: panel width × panel height

Pieces needed: ceiling(order area ÷ coverage per piece)

Grand total: siding cost + accessory cost + labor + tax + markup
