Formula Used

Base lye for each oil = oil weight × NaOH SAP value.

Total base lye = sum of all oil lye amounts.

Discounted lye = total base lye × (1 − superfat percentage ÷ 100).

Purity adjusted lye = discounted lye ÷ (purity percentage ÷ 100).

KOH conversion = NaOH requirement × 1.403.

Water by ratio = total alkali × selected water to lye ratio.

Water by concentration = total alkali × ((100 − concentration) ÷ concentration).

Batch total = oils + water + alkali + fragrance + additives + loss allowance.
