Formula Used
The calculator uses point totals, category weights, and balance spread. Each category receives a planned point value and a priority weight from 1 to 5. Higher weights increase the value of points spent in that area.
Spent Points = Firepower + Survival + Mobility + Operations + Sensors + Auxiliary.
Remaining Points = Available Skill Points − Spent Points.
Tree Completion = Spent Points ÷ Target Skill Point Cap × 100.
Weighted Score = Weighted Category Value ÷ Maximum Weighted Value × 100.
Final Build Score = Weighted Score × 55% + Completion × 25% + Balance Score × 20%. The balance score checks how evenly the skill plan is distributed.

Why Skill Planning Matters
A strong MWO build is more than weapons and armor. The skill tree shapes how your mech performs during real combat. Good planning helps you avoid wasted nodes. It also shows whether the build supports your selected battlefield role. A brawler needs durability and heat control. A scout needs speed, awareness, and clean target handling. A fire support mech needs weapon strength and steady operations.
Balance Your Main Role
The best plan starts with one clear role. After that, assign points to the trees that help that role most. Firepower supports damage and pressure. Survival helps you stay alive during trades. Mobility improves position control and escape options. Operations supports heat, cooldown rhythm, and long fights. Sensors improve target tracking and battlefield information. Auxiliary points support tools, consumables, and extra utility.
Use Weights Carefully
This calculator uses priority weights to judge value. A category with more importance should receive a higher weight. This does not mean every point must go there. It means the calculator will treat that area as more important. You can test several plans quickly. Change one category, calculate again, and compare the final score.
Read the Result
The spent point total shows your current investment. Remaining points show how much room you still have. Completion compares your plan against the target cap. The weighted score checks whether your important categories received enough attention. The balance score warns against extreme point spread. The final score combines these signals into one planning value.
Improve the Build
Use the recommendations as a tuning checklist. If the build has too many firepower points, add heat support. If Survival is too low, improve durability. If you have unused points, add them where the role feels weakest. Export the result when the plan is ready. Save several versions and compare them before final use.
