Formula Used

The calculator first converts local birth time to universal time: UTC = Local Time - UTC Offset. It then estimates the Julian Day from that universal time.

Greenwich mean sidereal time is estimated with: GMST = 280.46061837 + 360.98564736629 × (JD - 2451545) + 0.000387933T² - T³ / 38710000. Local sidereal time is: LST = GMST + Longitude.

The midheaven and ascendant are estimated from sidereal time, latitude, and Earth obliquity. Selected house methods then create twelve cusps. Equal houses divide from the ascendant by thirty degrees. Whole Sign starts at zero degrees of the rising sign. Porphyry divides each quadrant between the ascendant, midheaven, descendant, and lower meridian.
