Example Data Table

Woodcutting 70 90 175 2.5% 65000
Fishing 58 76 120 0% 42000

Formula Used

The level table is calculated with the classic RuneScape experience curve.

XP(level) = floor(Σ floor(n + 300 × 2^(n/7)) / 4), n = 1 to level - 1

Remaining XP = target XP - current XP

Effective XP/action = XP/action × (1 + bonus percentage / 100)

Actions needed = ceiling(remaining XP / effective XP/action)

Training hours = remaining XP / XP per hour

Training days = training hours / hours per day

How to Use This Calculator

Select your skill first. Enter your current level or exact current XP. Exact XP gives the most accurate result.

Enter a target level, target XP, or both. The calculator uses the higher target. Add XP per action for repeated methods.

Use bonus percentage when an outfit, reward, or event changes your experience. Add XP per hour and hours per day for time planning.

Skill Planning for Old School RuneScape

A skill calculator helps players turn goals into numbers. Old School RuneScape uses a curved experience table. Early levels need little effort. Later levels require millions of points. This tool shows that gap clearly. It lets you compare your current progress with a target level or target experience amount.

Why Experience Matters

Every skill has a training path. Some methods give steady experience. Other methods give profit, items, or faster completion. A calculator helps you compare those choices before you spend time or supplies. You can enter experience per action, bonus percentage, hourly rate, and daily play time. The result shows remaining experience, actions needed, hours required, and estimated days.

Advanced Goal Tracking

This page supports both level based and experience based targets. That is useful for normal goals, virtual goals, and long grinds. You can enter your current level when exact experience is unknown. You can also enter exact current experience for better accuracy. The calculator then uses the official style level curve to locate your real progress.

Because the output separates each measure, you can adjust one value quickly. Change the rate, bonus, or daily time, then compare the new plan again with confidence.

Training Method Comparison

Action based planning works well for repetitive training. Examples include fish caught, ores mined, potions made, logs burned, or monsters defeated. Hourly planning works better when a method changes during play. The bonus field can represent outfit boosts, event boosts, diary rewards, or other extra experience. This makes the estimate more flexible.

Reading the Results

The progress percentage shows how close your current experience is to the target. The remaining experience is the main number to watch. Actions needed shows the approximate count of repeated tasks. Hours and days help you schedule sessions. Milestones show the next levels between your current point and the selected target.

Better Planning Habits

Use conservative values when you are unsure. Real training rates can change with attention, banking speed, travel time, and mistakes. Save your output as a CSV file for spreadsheets. Download the PDF when you need a simple record. Recalculate whenever your level, method, or bonus changes. Small updates keep long goals realistic and easier to manage.

FAQs

What is an Old School RuneScape skill calculator?

It is a planning tool that estimates XP gaps, actions, hours, and days needed for a selected skill goal.

Can I use exact current XP?

Yes. Enter exact current XP for the best result. If you only know your level, the tool uses that level's minimum XP.

Why does the calculator allow level 126?

It supports virtual level planning. Standard skill goals usually stop at level 99, but long-term XP goals can go higher.

How are actions needed calculated?

The tool divides remaining XP by effective XP per action. It then rounds up, because partial actions still require one full action.

What does bonus percentage mean?

Bonus percentage represents extra experience from outfits, events, rewards, or other boosts. Use zero when no boost applies.

Can I plan by training hours?

Yes. Enter XP per hour and hours per day. The calculator estimates total hours and possible training days.

What is the CSV download for?

The CSV file is useful for spreadsheets. It stores the summary and milestone table for later review or comparison.

What is the PDF download for?

The PDF creates a simple report with your main result and milestones. It is useful for saving or sharing a plan.
