Formula Used
The CP formula is:
CP = floor((Base Attack + Attack IV) × sqrt(Base Defense + Defense IV) × sqrt(Base Stamina + Stamina IV) × CPM² ÷ 10)
The adjusted PvP stats are:
Attack = (Base Attack + Attack IV) × CPM
Defense = (Base Defense + Defense IV) × CPM
HP = floor((Base Stamina + Stamina IV) × CPM)
Stat Product = Attack × Defense × HP
The calculator ranks every IV spread from 0/0/0 to 15/15/15. Each spread is tested at its highest legal level under the selected CP cap.

Pokémon GO IV PvP Calculator Guide
A PvP Planning Tool
A PvP IV calculator helps compare hidden strength patterns. It does more than show stars. It estimates how a spread performs under a league CP cap. That matters because lower attack can allow a Pokémon to reach a higher level.
Why PvP IVs Matter
League battles limit CP, not level. Attack raises CP faster than defense or stamina. A low attack IV often leaves more room for bulk. That extra bulk may improve survival during close matchups. The best spread is usually the one with the largest stat product below the chosen cap.
What This Tool Measures
This calculator uses base attack, base defense, base stamina, IV values, and level multipliers. It calculates CP, adjusted attack, adjusted defense, HP, and stat product. It also searches every IV spread from zero to fifteen. Each spread is placed at its highest legal level under the selected cap. The final rank shows where your entered spread sits against all legal spreads.
Reading The Results
Rank one is the highest stat product found for the selected settings. Percentile shows how much of the field your spread beats. Product score compares your spread with the best possible spread. A strong score does not guarantee wins alone. Move timing, typing, energy, shields, and team support still matter.
Using Presets And Custom Stats
The preset menu fills common base stats. You can also enter custom stats for any species or form. Use the correct base stats for shadows, purified forms, regional forms, and special forms. Shadow damage bonuses are not part of IV rank math. Most PvP rank tables compare raw stat product only.
Practical Team Advice
Check Great, Ultra, and Master League separately. A spread that ranks well in one cap may rank poorly in another. Also compare the exact level shown by the calculator. Some builds require rare candy, XL candy, or heavy stardust. A slightly lower rank may be better when it saves resources or reaches important breakpoints. Use this page as a planning guide before powering up, trading, or transferring valuable catches.
Keep Notes Carefully
Save results before changing settings. Export files can record the species, cap, IVs, rank, level, and score. This makes future comparisons quicker when storage space becomes tight later.
FAQs
What is a PvP IV rank?
It is a comparison of one IV spread against every possible spread. Rank one has the highest stat product under the chosen league cap and level limit.
Why is low attack often better?
Attack raises CP faster than defense or stamina. A lower attack IV can let a Pokémon reach a higher level while staying under the league cap.
Does rank one always win more battles?
No. Rank helps measure bulk, but matchups also depend on moves, typing, energy, shields, switch timing, and team coverage.
What are base stats?
Base stats are species values used in CP and battle stat formulas. Each Pokémon species or form has its own base attack, defense, and stamina.
What is stat product?
Stat product is adjusted attack multiplied by adjusted defense and HP. PvP rank tools often use it to estimate total battle bulk and efficiency.
Can I use this for Ultra League?
Yes. Select the 2500 CP cap. Also choose the correct maximum level, especially when XL candy builds are possible.
Does this include shadow bonus?
No. Shadow damage changes battle performance, but standard PvP IV ranking compares CP, adjusted stats, HP, and stat product.
Why do I need maximum level?
Some builds require levels above 40. Setting the maximum level keeps rankings realistic for normal candy, XL candy, or best buddy planning.
