Formula Used

The calculator adds the cost of every half-level power-up between the current level and target level. Each step uses a base Stardust cost, a base regular Candy cost, or a base XL Candy cost.

Adjusted Stardust = ceiling(base Stardust × status Stardust multiplier × custom Stardust multiplier). Adjusted regular Candy = ceiling(base regular Candy × status Candy multiplier × custom regular Candy multiplier). Adjusted XL Candy = ceiling(base XL Candy × status Candy multiplier × custom XL Candy multiplier).

Total cost for all copies = per Pokémon total × number of copies. Shortage = total cost for copies − available resource after reserve. Negative shortage values are shown as zero.

Pokémon Go Power Up Planning

Powering up a Pokémon looks simple, but the cost can rise quickly. Early levels need small amounts of Stardust and Candy. Later levels demand larger piles. After level forty, XL Candy becomes the limiting resource. This calculator helps you check those costs before you tap the in game button.

Why Costs Matter

The tool uses the current level and target level to count every half level power-up. Each step has its own Stardust and Candy cost. The script then adds those steps together. It also applies status modifiers. A Lucky Pokémon uses less Stardust. A Purified Pokémon gets a small discount on Stardust and Candy. A Shadow Pokémon usually needs more resources.

Resources And Discounts

Inventory fields make the result more practical. Enter your saved Stardust, regular Candy, and XL Candy. The calculator shows what remains after the upgrade. It also shows any shortage. This helps you decide whether to grind more, trade, walk a buddy, or wait for events.

Team Planning

The copies field is useful for teams. You may want to power up several attackers for raids. You may also compare one premium choice against a full budget squad. The total cost for all copies shows the real demand. It can prevent expensive mistakes.

The level cap warning is also helpful. Pokémon can only be raised within trainer limits. The calculator compares your target with a practical cap. It then warns you when the target is too high. You can still review the math, but you get a clear reminder.

Practical Advice

Use the notes as planning guidance, not as a game guarantee. Game rules can be adjusted. Event bonuses can also change value. The cost table is stored in the script, so site owners can edit it when needed.

For best results, check the appraisal screen first. Estimate the current level from the power-up cost, or use a known level from a trusted source. Then enter the target level you want. Review the totals, shortages, and average cost. Download the CSV or PDF when you need a saved plan. Keep older exports for comparison. Repeat the process for every candidate in your shortlist. This makes comparisons clearer before spending rare Candy XL.
