About This Calculator
A Pokeball catch rates calculator helps estimate capture success before each throw. It uses target health, species catch rate, ball bonus, status condition, and throw count. The result shows a single throw chance and a repeated throw chance. This helps compare tactics quickly.
Why Catch Rate Matters
Every species has a base catch rate. Higher values are easier to catch. Lower values need stronger balls, lower health, or better status effects. Health is also important. A weak target usually raises the final chance. Sleep and freeze often provide the strongest status bonus. Paralysis, burn, and poison are still useful.
Advanced Options
This tool includes custom ball modifiers and catch rate adjustments. These options help model special balls or house rules. Timer Ball can improve with turns. Quick Ball can help early. Dusk Ball can help in caves or at night. Net Ball can help against water or bug targets. Repeat Ball can help if the species is already registered.
Planning Better Throws
Use the calculator before spending rare balls. Start with the species catch rate. Then enter max HP and current HP. Pick the selected ball. Add the status bonus. Enter the number of planned throws. The calculator returns the chance for one throw. It also estimates the chance after several identical throws.
Reading The Result
A chance near one hundred percent means capture is almost certain. A low chance means more throws may be needed. Expected throws is an average value. Real battles can still vary because capture checks are random. The shake value is included for players who want deeper detail.
Practical Tips
Lower the target HP safely. Use False Swipe when available. Add sleep or freeze when possible. Choose balls that match the situation. Use Quick Ball on the first turn. Use Timer Ball during long battles. Use Dusk Ball in dark areas. These choices can raise capture odds without guessing.
Export And Records
The export buttons save the same values shown on screen. CSV is useful for spreadsheets. PDF is useful for simple reports. Keep records for difficult hunts. Compare different balls after each test. This can show which option gives the best value over time. Review entries before changing your battle plan.
