Formula Used

Type effectiveness is calculated by multiplying the move multiplier against every selected defending type. A Rock move against Fire, Flying, and Dragon becomes 2 × 2 × 1 = 4×.

Estimated damage uses this simplified battle formula:

Damage = (((((2 × Level ÷ 5) + 2) × Power × Attack ÷ Defense) ÷ 50) + 2) × STAB × Type × Critical × Roll × Other

The result is a planning estimate. Real battles can also include abilities, held items, screens, terrain, weather, and special move rules.
