Pokemon Crystal Time Change Password Calculator

Enter game details and calculate the hidden password. See sums, bytes, and final code quickly. Save CSV files, create reports, and follow reset steps.

Calculator Inputs

Case sensitive. Only the first five characters are counted.
Enter the number shown on your trainer card.
Use the money currently carried by your character.

Formula Used

The calculator adds three parts. First, it converts the first five trainer name characters into game character values. Second, it converts current money into a 16 bit value, then adds the low byte and high byte. Third, it repeats the same byte process for the trainer ID.

Password = first five name character sum + money low byte + money high byte + ID low byte + ID high byte.

The final number is padded on the left until it has five digits.

About This Calculator

This Pokemon Crystal Time Change Password Calculator helps players unlock the hidden clock reset screen. It uses the same visible details found on the trainer card. You enter the trainer name, trainer ID, and current money. The tool then converts those values into the five digit password.

Why The Password Matters

Pokemon Crystal uses an internal clock for day, night, radio events, berries, siblings, and some phone calls. A wrong clock can make daily events feel broken. The official game does not show the password. Players must calculate it from saved game data. This calculator keeps that process clear and repeatable.

Advanced Input Support

The trainer name is case sensitive. ASH and Ash are different names. Only the first five characters are used. Special game characters can be entered with simple symbols. Use # for the PK character. Use $ for the MN character. Use * for the multiplication symbol. Unsupported letters are flagged before a result appears.

Result Details

The result panel shows more than the final code. It lists the name sum, money byte sum, ID byte sum, and normalized values. This helps you check typing mistakes quickly. It also explains which characters were counted. The password is padded with leading zeros when needed.

Exports And Records

CSV export is useful for quick logs. PDF export is helpful when printing instructions. Both files include the key input values and the calculated password. The example table shows realistic cases, so visitors understand the format before entering their own save data.

Safe Use Tips

Read the trainer card carefully. Check the current money before depositing or spending anything. If you want a reusable routine, store all money with Mom and use zero money during future resets. After entering the password, set the weekday and clock honestly. This keeps timed events predictable.

Who Should Use It

This calculator is designed for players, collectors, speedrunners, guide writers, and retro repair shops. It works best for US and European Crystal saves. Japanese releases do not use this hidden menu. Korean Gold and Silver have related behavior, but this page focuses on Crystal. Keep your save backed up before changing time. It also suits emulator users who need accurate clock recovery after migrations too.

FAQs

1. What does this calculator do?

It creates the hidden clock reset password for Pokemon Crystal. Enter your trainer name, trainer ID, and current money. The tool returns the five digit code and shows each calculation step.

2. Is the trainer name case sensitive?

Yes. Uppercase and lowercase letters have different game values. Type the name exactly as it appears on the trainer card, including capital letters and special symbols.

3. Why are only five name characters used?

The password method reads only the first five trainer name characters. Extra characters can appear in your save, but they are ignored for this calculation.

4. What should I enter for special characters?

Use # for the PK character, $ for the MN character, and * for the multiplication symbol. The calculator also accepts {, }, @, and × as alternate inputs.

5. Can I use zero money?

Yes. Zero money is valid. Some players store money with Mom before resetting the clock, because zero money makes future recalculations easier to repeat.

6. Does this work for Japanese Crystal?

No. Japanese Gold, Silver, and Crystal do not use this same hidden clock reset menu. This page is aimed at US and European Pokemon Crystal saves.

7. Why does the result have leading zeros?

The game expects a five digit password. If the calculated total has fewer digits, the calculator adds zeros on the left so the code fits the prompt.

8. What if the password fails?

Check the trainer name spelling, capitalization, trainer ID, and carried money. Also confirm special characters. A single wrong character or outdated money value changes the password.
