Why Moveset Balance Matters
A good moveset changes how a Pokémon performs in raids, gyms, and trainer battles. Raw power is only one part. Speed, energy, same type attack bonus, weather, and type effectiveness also matter. This calculator combines those factors into one practical score. It helps you compare a fast move and a charged move without guessing.
What The Calculator Measures
The tool starts with fast move damage, duration, and energy gain. It then checks charged move damage, duration, and energy cost. A charged move with high power may still feel weak if it charges too slowly. A low power move may become useful when it fires often. The cycle score shows the full rhythm of the moveset.
Battle Modifiers
Modifiers change the final result. STAB raises damage when a move matches the Pokémon type. Weather can boost matching moves. Type effectiveness can punish resisted attacks or reward super effective attacks. Shadow bonus and friendship bonus can also change output. Each option is kept separate, so you can test many battle cases.
How Scores Help
The final score is not a game guarantee. It is a planning guide. A raid setup may favor strong cycle damage. A trainer battle setup may value energy speed and charged move efficiency. The role selector changes the weights, so the same move pair can score differently in each mode.
Practical Use Cases
Use this calculator when building raid teams, checking new move updates, or comparing legacy moves. It is also helpful before spending rare candy, elite items, or stardust. You can export the result as CSV for spreadsheets. You can also download a compact PDF report for later review.
Best Results
Enter move data from trusted game resources. Use seconds for duration. Use positive values for power, energy, attack, and defense. Try one matchup at a time. Then compare several move pairs. The strongest setup is often the one with the best balance, not only the largest listed power. Keep notes for each test. Small changes can reveal useful patterns. If two scores are close, consider availability, shields, and timing. Comfortable moves often perform better during real battles because missed turns reduce expected damage. Practice improves final team decisions. Compare again after updates.
