Formula Used

PPM means parts per million. In water work, 1 ppm is often treated as 1 milligram per liter. This calculator first converts the entered volume into liters.

Required chlorine mg = Water liters × PPM increase

Adjusted mg = Required chlorine mg × (1 + loss factor) × (1 + safety margin)

Product mL = Adjusted mg ÷ (product strength fraction × density × 1000)
