Formula Used

This calculator uses the Mifflin St Jeor equation for basal metabolic rate. Male BMR equals 10 × weight kg plus 6.25 × height cm minus 5 × age plus 5. Female BMR equals 10 × weight kg plus 6.25 × height cm minus 5 × age minus 161.

TDEE equals BMR multiplied by activity factor. Target calories are adjusted by the chosen deficit or surplus. Lean mass equals body weight multiplied by one minus body fat percentage. Protein grams equal lean mass multiplied by protein setting. Carbs are fixed by the user. Fat calories equal target calories minus protein calories and carb calories. Fat grams equal fat calories divided by 9.

How To Use This Calculator

Advanced Keto Macro Planning Guide

What This Calculator Does

A keto calculator helps you build a daily macro plan. It estimates calories first. Then it divides those calories into fat, protein, and net carbs. This version gives more control than a basic macro tool. You can change activity, goal, body fat, protein level, carb limit, and meals per day.

Why Calories Still Matter

Keto changes fuel use, but energy balance still matters. A calorie deficit supports fat loss. Maintenance calories support stable weight. A surplus may help muscle gain when training is consistent. The calculator starts with BMR. This is your estimated resting energy use. It then applies an activity multiplier.

Protein And Lean Mass

Protein is based on lean body mass. This is useful because fat tissue needs less protein than muscle tissue. Higher protein may suit lifting, dieting, or active routines. Lower protein may suit lighter activity. The tool lets you adjust protein per lean kilogram. This helps match the plan to real needs.

Carbs And Fat Targets

Net carbs are entered as a fixed target. Many keto users stay near 20 to 30 grams daily. Active users may choose more. After carbs and protein are counted, the remaining calories become fat. This makes fat the balancing macro. It also keeps the plan simple.

Meal Planning

The per meal estimate helps daily planning. It divides calories and macros by meal count. You can use it for two meals, three meals, or more. This does not force exact meals. It gives a practical target. Track progress weekly. Adjust calories when weight trends change.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a keto macro calculator?

It estimates daily calories, fat, protein, and net carbs for a ketogenic diet. It helps create a structured eating target.

Are net carbs important?

Yes. Net carbs are commonly tracked on keto. They usually mean total carbs minus fiber and selected sugar alcohols.

Can I use this for fat loss?

Yes. Choose the fat loss goal and enter a deficit percentage. A moderate deficit is easier to follow long term.

Can I use imperial units?

Yes. Select imperial units. Height is treated as inches, and weight is treated as pounds.

Why does body fat matter?

Body fat helps estimate lean mass. Protein can then be calculated from lean mass instead of total body weight.

What is the keto ratio?

It compares fat calories against protein and carb calories. A higher ratio means more calories come from fat.

Should I eat exact numbers daily?

Exact numbers are not always required. Use the result as a guide. Consistent weekly averages are often more useful.

Can athletes use this calculator?

Yes. Athletes can choose higher activity and protein settings. They may also need careful carb timing and performance tracking.
