Formula Used
The calculator uses the standard rowing pace structure. Split pace is the time needed to row 500 meters. When distance and time are known, the split is calculated by dividing total time by distance and multiplying by 500.
Split seconds = total seconds ÷ distance × 500
To find finish time from split pace, the calculator multiplies the number of 500 meter segments by the split seconds.
Finish time = distance ÷ 500 × split seconds
Power is estimated with the common erg power equation.
Watts = 2.8 ÷ (split seconds ÷ 500)3
Calories per hour are estimated as four times watts plus 300. Gross time includes rest between intervals. Target projection uses a five second pace change for each distance doubling.
