How standard rates are built
A standard rate usually starts with a base amount. That base covers a starting weight. Any weight above the included limit adds an extra charge. Parcels may also use dimensional weight. Dimensional weight converts package volume into a billable weight. It prevents a very large, light box from being underpriced.
Zones and editable rates
Zones can change the price because longer routes cost more. The calculator applies a percentage surcharge for the selected zone. You can edit the zone values when your carrier uses different tables. For best results, weigh the packed item, not only the product. Measure the longest side, width, and height after sealing the box. Use the same units throughout, or select the proper converter. Add a handling fee when labor, packing material, or internal processing must be recovered.
