Calculator
Enter up to nine items. Use base sell price, quality, category, profit margin, and optional sale boost.
Formula Used
The calculator uses the standard grange display structure:
- Total Score = Base Points + Item Count Points + Category Points + Item Value Points
- Base Points = 14
- Item Count Points =
2x - 9, wherexis the number of submitted items. - Category Points =
min(unique recognized categories, 6) × 5 - Adjusted Sell Price = Base Price × Profit Margin × Quality Multiplier × Sale Boost
- Item Points come from adjusted sell price and quality, capped at 8 per item.
| Adjusted Sell Price | Normal | Silver | Gold | Iridium |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0+ | 1 | 2 | 3 | 5 |
| 20+ | 2 | 3 | 4 | 6 |
| 90+ | 3 | 4 | 5 | 7 |
| 200+ | 4 | 5 | 6 | 8 |

Plan A Strong Fair Display
The Stardew fair rewards planning more than luck. A grange display can hold nine items, so every empty slot hurts the final score. This calculator helps you test a full lineup before festival day. It combines base points, item count points, category variety, item value, quality, and special risk choices into one clear result.
Why Variety Matters
Many players bring only expensive crops. That can work, but it may waste easy category points. The fair recognizes several item groups, including animal products, artisan goods, cooking, fish, foraging, fruits, minerals, and vegetables. Each unique recognized group adds value until the variety bonus reaches its cap. A balanced display can beat a display filled with repeated high value items.
How Item Value Helps
Each item also receives points from its adjusted sell price and quality. Gold and iridium items usually perform better because their quality boosts both value and scoring tier. The calculator lets you enter a base price, quality, profit margin, and optional sale boost. This makes it useful for normal farms, lower margin challenge saves, and profession boosted goods.
Reading The Result
After you submit the form, the summary appears above the inputs. You can see the total score, likely placing, star token reward, category count, item score, and points needed for first place. The chart shows how each part contributes to the total. This makes weak spots easier to find.
Best Strategy
A safe goal is at least ninety points. Use all nine slots. Aim for six recognized categories. Then choose your highest quality and highest value item from each category. If the score still falls short, replace low price normal items first. Export the report as CSV or PDF, then keep it as a festival checklist.
Advanced Checks
The advanced fields are helpful when a farm uses unusual settings. Lower profit margins can move items into weaker value bands. A profession boost can move them back up. The Mayor shorts option is included because it changes the outcome entirely. Use it only when you want the secret token result instead of normal judging. Save several lineups and compare them before entering town confidently.
FAQs
What score is needed for first place?
First place needs at least 90 points. The calculator shows your current score and the exact number of points still needed.
How many items should I submit?
Submit all nine items whenever possible. Empty display slots reduce the item-count score and make first place harder.
How many categories should I use?
Use six recognized categories for the full variety bonus. More than six categories can help balance your display, but the bonus caps at thirty points.
Does item quality matter?
Yes. Higher quality can raise both adjusted sell price and the item point tier. Gold and iridium goods are usually stronger choices.
What is adjusted sell price?
Adjusted sell price is the calculated value after profit margin, quality multiplier, and optional sale boosts are applied to the base price.
Can one category be repeated?
Yes. Repeated categories still earn item points. They just do not add new variety points after that category has already been counted.
What does the secret item option do?
It simulates the special disqualification result. Use it only when you want the secret token payout instead of normal scoring.
Why include CSV and PDF downloads?
They let you save the display plan, compare lineups, and keep a checklist before attending the fair in your game.
