Residual CO2 is estimated from the highest finished beer temperature. The formula uses Fahrenheit temperature:

Residual CO2 = 3.0378 − 0.050062T + 0.00026555T²

The 4.01 value estimates grams of sucrose per liter for one added CO2 volume. Sugar yield adjusts the dose for dextrose, malt extract, honey, syrup, or custom strength.
