Wondrous Tails Planning Guide
A Wondrous Tails journal looks simple, yet the grid creates many outcomes. Each sticker can change the value of a weekly book. This calculator helps you read that grid before you spend more time, points, or duties. It turns visible sticker positions into chances for zero, one, two, or three reward lines.
Why Probability Matters
The journal uses a four by four board. A line needs four marked squares in a row, column, or diagonal. Since the final journal uses nine stickers, the same number of stickers can produce very different results. A neat cluster may look promising, but an open diagonal can sometimes carry more value. The tool checks every possible remaining placement, so the result is not a guess.
Reroll and Goal Planning
Many players decide whether to keep a layout or shuffle it. This decision is easier when a target is clear. Set your goal to one, two, or three lines. Then enter planned shuffle attempts and point cost. The calculator estimates the chance of reaching that target at least once across those attempts. It also shows the expected number of attempts when the current chance is above zero.
Reward Value Method
Rewards can differ by character, market, patch, and personal need. For that reason, the form lets you enter your own values for completion, one line, two lines, and three lines. These values may be gil estimates, token scores, or any custom rating. The expected value combines those rewards with the probability of each final result.
Best Next Cell Insight
The next cell table is a planning aid. It ranks empty squares by projected value if the next sticker lands there. The journal does not let you choose the square directly. Still, this view shows whether the current board has strong paths or weak paths. It can help you judge if another shuffle is worth trying.
Practical Use
Enter every sticker you already have. Keep reward values realistic. Compare the target chance with your available points and time. If the target chance is tiny, save resources. If the target chance is strong, continue carefully.
Review the table after each new sticker. Small changes can shift every path, especially near seven placed stickers.
