Formula Used

Available talent points: max(0, level - 9), capped at 51.

Total spent: sum of all entered talent ranks across the three selected class trees.

Remaining points: available talent points - total spent.

Tier unlock rule: a talent in tier N needs (N - 1) × 5 earlier points in the same tree.

Completion percent: total spent ÷ available points × 100.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Choose your class from the class menu.
  2. Enter the character level from 1 to 60.
  3. Add talent ranks inside each tree.
  4. Keep each rank within its maximum value.
  5. Press calculate to see the result above the form.
  6. Use the chart, CSV, and PDF buttons to save the plan.

Planning a Classic Talent Build

A good classic build starts with a clear job. You may want raid damage. You may need safer leveling. You may prefer battleground control. Each choice changes the value of every point. This tool keeps that decision visible. It checks your level first. Then it limits points to the total a character can spend.

Tree Balance Matters

Each class has three talent trees. One tree often carries the main plan. A second tree can add support. A third tree can finish utility. Spending too evenly can weaken core bonuses. Spending too narrowly can miss helpful tools. The summary shows your strongest tree and build style. It also marks remaining points, so gaps are easy to see.

Why Rank Limits Help

Talent ranks prevent accidental overbuilding. A five-rank talent accepts only five points. A one-rank talent works like a final switch. The calculator reads every rank and compares it with the selected limit. It also checks tier access. Higher rows need enough earlier investment. This mirrors the planning pressure of old talent trees.

Using Results

After calculation, the result appears above the form. This helps you review the build before changing more fields. The chart gives a quick view of point spread. CSV export helps store the plan in a spreadsheet. PDF export gives a clean report for guides, guild notes, or personal records.

Practical Tips

Start with level sixty when designing endgame plans. Use lower levels for leveling routes. Put required talents first. Add flexible talents after that. Watch the remaining point count. A strong build usually has a purpose. It may focus on damage, healing, tanking, control, or survival. Do not judge a build by totals alone. Some one-point talents can change a rotation. Some five-point talents only add steady value.

Better Comparisons

Create several plans before choosing one. Compare primary tree points. Compare support points. Check whether the build is focused or hybrid. Save the most useful plan. Then adjust it for your role, gear, and group needs. Keep notes for unusual gear sets. Mark experimental choices clearly. That makes future edits faster, and it helps teammates understand your build path and role.

FAQs

1. What level range does this calculator support?

It supports levels 1 through 60. Talent points begin at level 10, so lower levels show zero available points.

2. Why are talent points capped at 51?

A level 60 classic character has 51 talent points. The calculator uses that cap when checking the final plan.

3. Can I use it for leveling builds?

Yes. Set the level to your current target. The remaining points and tier warnings help plan each leveling step.

4. Does the tool check talent rank limits?

Yes. Each input has a maximum rank. The server also trims ranks above the allowed maximum and shows a warning.

5. What does focused build mean?

A focused build spends at least 70 percent of used points in one tree. It usually supports one clear role.

6. What does hybrid build mean?

A hybrid build spreads points across three trees. It can add flexibility, but may reduce deep talent access.

7. What is the CSV download for?

The CSV file stores the summary and talent rows. You can open it in spreadsheet tools or keep build records.

8. What is included in the PDF report?

The PDF includes class, level, point totals, tree spread, status, and selected talent ranks for quick sharing.
