Formula Used

Total Votes = Likes + Dislikes

Like Ratio = Likes ÷ Total Votes × 100

Dislike Ratio = Dislikes ÷ Total Votes × 100

Net Score = Likes − Dislikes

Sentiment Index = (Likes − Dislikes) ÷ Total Votes × 100

Engagement Rate = (Likes + Dislikes + Comments + Shares) ÷ Views × 100

Bayesian Like Ratio = (Likes + Prior Likes) ÷ (Likes + Dislikes + Prior Likes + Prior Dislikes) × 100

Target Likes Needed = ((Target × Total Votes) − Likes) ÷ (1 − Target)

The Wilson score gives a conservative lower estimate for the like ratio. It is useful when the vote count is small.

How To Use This Calculator

Enter the number of likes and dislikes from your video report. Add views, comments, shares, and subscribers for deeper engagement results. Choose a target like ratio. Add expected future likes and dislikes if you want a projection. Adjust the prior values when you want a softer Bayesian result for videos with low vote counts. Press Calculate. The result appears above the form and below the header. Use the CSV or PDF button to save the report.

Why Like And Dislike Analysis Matters

Understand Audience Signals

A like and dislike calculator helps creators read audience reaction with care. A raw like count is useful, but it can be misleading. A video with many views may need more context. The ratio shows how positive the vote mix is. The net score shows the gap between support and rejection.

Compare Videos Fairly

Different videos receive different traffic levels. One upload may get thousands of views. Another may reach a smaller audience. The likes per thousand views metric makes both easier to compare. The engagement rate adds comments and shares. This gives a wider view of audience action.

Use Advanced Stability Checks

Small videos can change quickly. Ten new dislikes can shift a ratio fast. The Bayesian ratio reduces this problem by adding prior weights. It smooths extreme results. The Wilson lower score is also helpful. It gives a cautious estimate based on confidence. This can stop early numbers from looking too strong.

Plan Better Targets

The target section helps with planning. It estimates how many extra likes are needed to reach a chosen like ratio. It also shows how many extra dislikes can arrive before that target fails. This is useful for campaigns, paid promotion, and content tests.

Improve Future Uploads

Use the result with audience comments. A high dislike share may show a mismatch in title, topic, pacing, or promise. A strong ratio with low engagement may mean the video is liked, but not shared. Review the numbers after launch, after one day, and after one week. Trends often say more than a single snapshot.

FAQs

1. What does the like ratio mean?

It shows the percentage of positive votes among total votes. A higher value usually means the audience response is more favorable.

2. Why include dislikes?

Dislikes help measure negative reaction. They can reveal confusion, mismatch, weak targeting, or content quality issues.

3. What is a good like ratio?

Many creators consider 90% or higher strong. The right target depends on niche, topic, audience size, and video type.

4. What is the sentiment index?

It measures the vote gap as a percentage. Positive values show more likes than dislikes. Negative values show more dislikes.

5. Why use Bayesian ratio?

It smooths results for videos with few votes. This avoids overreacting to early likes or dislikes.

6. What is Wilson lower score?

It is a cautious estimate of the like ratio. It is useful when confidence and sample size matter.

7. Can I export my result?

Yes. Use the CSV button for spreadsheet data. Use the PDF button for a simple printable summary.

8. Does this calculator need hidden dislike data?

No. You can enter any dislike estimate or available internal data. The tool then calculates ratios from your inputs.
