Calculator Form

Formula Used

Listed shield = Talent base absorption + (Max HP × Talent HP scaling percentage).

Universal absorption = Listed shield × 1.50.

Total shield strength = Extra shield strength bonus + Resonant Waves stacks × 5%.

Final effective shield = Universal absorption × (1 + Total shield strength ÷ 100).

Reduced incoming hit = Incoming hit × (1 − Damage reduction ÷ 100).

Estimated hits blocked = Floor(Final effective shield ÷ Reduced incoming hit).

How To Use This Calculator

  1. Enter Zhongli's current maximum HP from your character details screen.
  2. Select the current Dominus Lapidis talent level.
  3. Add shield strength bonuses that apply to the protected active character.
  4. Choose current Resonant Waves stacks, from zero to five.
  5. Enter incoming hit or damage per second values for combat testing.
  6. Press the calculate button and review the result above the form.
  7. Use the CSV or PDF buttons to save the calculated build result.

Understanding Zhongli Shield Planning

Zhongli is valued because his Jade Shield is simple, durable, and reliable. Still, a good build needs more than a large HP number. Talent level, shield strength, passive stacks, and team bonuses all change the final protection. This calculator brings those details into one practical estimate.

Why Shield Math Matters

Many players compare builds by looking only at maximum HP. That view can hide important differences. A lower HP build with higher talent level may protect better than an unfinished high HP build. Extra shield strength also changes the result for the active character. It does not raise Zhongli's HP, but it improves how much damage the shield can absorb while that character stays protected.

Using Talent Data

Dominus Lapidis has two shield parts. The first part is a flat base value. The second part is a percentage of Zhongli's maximum HP. Both values rise with talent level. The calculator adds those two parts first. Then it applies the universal Jade Shield absorption bonus. After that, it adds optional shield strength bonuses and Resonant Waves stacks.

Practical Build Choices

A shield build usually wants HP sands, HP goblet, and HP circlet. Black Tassel is a common weapon because it gives more HP. Tenacity style team support can also help, when its effect is active. Players who use Zhongli for burst damage may accept a smaller shield. They may add Geo damage, critical rate, or critical damage instead. This tool lets both styles be compared quickly.

Reading The Result

The final shield value is an estimate. It helps compare builds, not guarantee survival. Actual combat can include damage reduction, resistance, enemy level effects, and multi-hit attacks. Large single hits are easier to test with the hits blocked field. Small fast hits may consume the shield in a different rhythm. Use the result as a planning guide, then confirm it in your own rotation.

Best Use Case

Enter your current HP and talent level first. Then add only bonuses that are active for the protected character. Compare one build at a time. Export the result when you want to keep a build record. Repeat the test after changing artifacts, weapons, teams, or talent levels for cleaner comparisons.

FAQs

What does this Zhongli shield calculator estimate?

It estimates Jade Shield durability using HP, talent level, universal absorption, shield strength bonuses, passive stacks, and incoming damage options.

Does higher HP always make the shield stronger?

Higher HP usually helps, but talent level and shield strength bonuses can change comparisons. Test complete builds instead of HP alone.

What are Resonant Waves stacks?

They represent Zhongli's passive shield strength increase after the shield takes damage. Each stack adds 5%, up to five stacks.

Should I enter team shield bonuses?

Enter bonuses only when they are active for the protected character. Do not include effects that are missing during your rotation.

Why is there a 150% multiplier?

Jade Shield has universal absorption against elemental and physical damage. This calculator applies that multiplier after talent base and HP scaling.

Can this calculator predict every fight?

No. It is a planning tool. Real fights include timing, enemy behavior, reactions, resistance, and rapid multi-hit damage patterns.

What talent level should I select?

Select the current Dominus Lapidis talent level shown in game. Include constellation talent increases only if they are active.

What does theoretical cycle shield pool mean?

It multiplies final shield value by possible recasts during the fight. It is useful for comparison, not a guaranteed combat total.
