Calculator Inputs

This page uses one main content column. The calculator fields shift to three, two, or one columns by screen size.

Readiness Score Weights

Weights must total 100. This helps compare timeline quality across hires or departments.

Formula Used

Milestone Date Formula: Milestone Date = Start Date + Offset Days

Business-Day Mode: Only Monday to Friday are counted when adding offsets. Weekend dates are skipped during calculation.

Readiness Score Formula:

Readiness Score = (Docs Status × Docs Weight) + (Tools Status × Tools Weight) + (Training Status × Training Weight) + (Check-In Status × Check-In Weight) + (Benefits Status × Benefits Weight) + (Probation Status × Probation Weight)

Status values are scored from milestone order and timing. A value of 1 means the milestone sequence is on track. Lower values flag weaker timeline quality.

FAQs

1. What does this calculator measure?

It maps onboarding milestones from the employee start date. It also estimates readiness by weighting documents, tools, training, check-ins, benefits, and probation timing.

2. Can I use business days instead of calendar days?

Yes. Choose business days to skip Saturdays and Sundays while adding milestone offsets. This helps align internal onboarding plans with working schedules.

3. Why do the weights need to total 100?

A total of 100 keeps the readiness score consistent and interpretable. It lets every factor contribute proportionally to one final percentage.

4. What is a good readiness score?

Higher scores suggest better sequencing and stronger onboarding preparedness. Many teams treat 85% or above as strong, but internal benchmarks can vary.

5. Can I customize milestones for different roles?

Yes. Change offsets for each role, department, or location. This makes the calculator useful for technical, operational, or leadership onboarding plans.

6. Does this replace an HRIS or onboarding platform?

No. It works best as a planning and forecasting tool. Use it alongside your HR systems for execution, reminders, approvals, and document storage.

7. What do CSV and PDF exports include?

They include the milestone results table. This makes it easier to share timelines with managers, HR partners, recruiting, or IT support teams.

8. Can this support probation and first review planning?

Yes. The calculator includes probation end and first review dates. That helps managers prepare feedback cycles and employee development checkpoints earlier.
