It means the calculator assumes the crown follows one continuous vaulted ceiling plane. It does not add separate transition blocks, level returns, or special break pieces.
Which spring angle should I enter?
Enter the nominal spring angle for your crown molding. Common values are 38, 45, and 52 degrees. Check the product sheet when available.
Should I use inside or outside corner?
Use inside corner when two walls meet inward. Use outside corner when the crown turns around an outside projection or exposed corner.
Why does the fit method matter?
The fit method controls how the vault change affects the spring angle. Real trim can be seated against the ceiling, wall, or between both surfaces.
Can this replace a test cut?
No. The calculator gives a strong starting point. Always test on scrap before cutting finish material, especially on steep vaulted ceilings.
