Example Data Table

Practice Style Session Pattern Guided Time Full Cycles Bells
Balanced Reset 10 min 4-4-4-4 08:30 31 1 at 05:00
Calming Evening 15 min 4-2-6-2 13:00 55 2 at 05:00, 10:00
Deep Focus Block 20 min 5-5-5-5 17:30 52 3 at 05:00, 10:00, 15:00

Formula Used

Breathing Cycle Length = Inhale + Hold After Inhale + Exhale + Hold After Exhale

Guided Breathing Time = Total Session Seconds - Settle-In Seconds - Reflection Seconds

Full Cycles = floor(Guided Breathing Time / Breathing Cycle Length)

Remaining Guided Time = Guided Breathing Time mod Breathing Cycle Length

Estimated Cycles Per Minute = 60 / Breathing Cycle Length

Weekly Practice Volume = Session Minutes × Daily Sessions × Practice Days Per Week

Bell Count = Number of elapsed interval marks before the session ends

FAQs

1. What does this calculator measure?

It turns your session length and breathing pattern into cycle counts, guided practice time, bell checkpoints, and weekly practice volume.

2. Can I use it for silent meditation?

Yes. Set inhale and exhale values for your preferred rhythm, then disable interval bells by entering zero minutes.

3. Why is there remaining guided time?

That value appears when guided breathing time does not divide evenly by one full breathing cycle. It helps you end gracefully.

4. What are interval bells for?

Interval bells create light progress markers during longer sessions. They can support pacing without forcing you to watch the clock.

5. How should I choose breathing holds?

Start gently and use holds only if they feel comfortable. Shorter holds often suit beginners or calmer recovery-oriented sessions.

6. What does weekly practice volume show?

It multiplies session minutes by daily sessions and weekly practice days. This helps you plan consistent habits over time.

7. What do the CSV and PDF buttons export?

They export the currently displayed result summary, making it easier to archive routines, compare settings, or share practice plans.

8. Is this a treatment or diagnostic tool?

No. It is a planning and timing tool only. Seek licensed support for diagnosis, treatment, or urgent mental health concerns.
