Advanced Bra Fit Calculator

Formula Used

The calculator first converts all measurements to inches. It creates an effective underbust value from snug and tight underbust readings. It then rounds the band by the selected method.

Effective underbust = snug underbust × 0.70 + tight underbust × 0.30 + fit adjustment + stretch adjustment.

Effective bust = standing bust × 0.45 + leaning bust × 0.35 + lying bust × 0.20.

Cup difference = effective bust − suggested band. A difference near 1 means A cup, 2 means B cup, 3 means C cup, 4 means D cup, 5 means DD or E, and 6 means DDD or F.

The support balance is a practical physics-style guide. The band carries most support. Straps and cups refine lift, stability, and shape. It is not a medical measure.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Measure under the bust while standing relaxed.
  2. Enter snug and tight underbust values.
  3. Measure the fullest bust while standing, leaning, and lying.
  4. Select fit preference, fabric stretch, shape, and style.
  5. Press calculate and review the result above the form.
  6. Check sister sizes if the band or cup feels close but not perfect.

Natori Bra Fit and Measurement Guide

Why Measurement Balance Matters

A bra size is not only a label. It is a balance between band tension, cup depth, strap comfort, and fabric movement. This calculator uses several body readings because one bust number can miss shape differences. Standing measurements show natural position. Leaning measurements show available tissue depth. Lying measurements reduce gravity effects. Together, they create a better average for size estimation.

Band Fit and Support

The band works like the main support beam. It should sit level around the torso. It should feel secure without pinching. If the band rides upward, it may be too loose. If breathing feels restricted, it may be too tight. A firm band can improve lift, but comfort still matters.

Cup Depth and Shape

Cup size depends on the difference between the bust and band. Yet shape changes the final fit. Shallow tissue may leave empty space in deep cups. Projected tissue may push against low-depth cups. Wide-set shapes may need side support. Asymmetry may need removable padding or fitting to the larger side.

Sister Sizes

Sister sizes keep similar cup volume while changing band length. For example, one step up uses a larger band and smaller cup letter. One step down uses a smaller band and larger cup letter. This is useful when the cup volume feels close, but the band does not feel right.

Comfort Check

After using the result, try the bra on the loosest hook. The center gore should sit close to the body. Cups should hold tissue without cutting in. Straps should guide lift, not carry most weight. Move, sit, and raise your arms. A good fit stays stable during normal motion.

FAQs

1. Is this an official Natori calculator?

No. It is an independent measurement-based tool. It estimates a practical size using band, bust, shape, and comfort inputs.

2. Why does the calculator use three bust measurements?

Standing, leaning, and lying measurements show different tissue positions. Their weighted average can give a more balanced cup estimate.

3. What does sister size mean?

A sister size changes band length while keeping similar cup volume. It helps when the cup feels close but the band feels wrong.

4. Should I choose firm or relaxed fit?

Choose firm for stronger support. Choose relaxed for softer daily comfort. Balanced works well for most everyday sizing needs.

5. Why is my cup letter different from my usual size?

Cup letters depend on band size. A smaller band can use a larger cup letter while keeping similar cup volume.

6. Can this calculator work with centimeters?

Yes. Select centimeters before entering measurements. The script converts values to inches before applying the sizing formula.

7. What if one breast is larger?

Fit the larger side first. You can use removable padding on the smaller side for better balance and smoother cup shape.

8. Does the support index show medical pressure?

No. It is only a practical comfort indicator. It helps compare support demand, not body pressure or health impact.
