Chronological age is found by subtracting the birth date from the testing date. The standard formula is: Age = Testing Date - Birth Date. The result is shown as years, months, and days.

The exact calendar method uses real calendar months and real month lengths. The 30 day borrowing method borrows 30 days when the day value is smaller. It then borrows 12 months when the month value is smaller.

Prematurity correction is optional. The formula is: Adjusted Age = Chronological Age - Correction Days. Correction days equal premature weeks multiplied by seven, plus extra days.
