Formula Used

This calculator uses the common Pokémon GO damage structure: Damage = floor(0.5 × Move Power × Attack ÷ Defense × Total Modifier) + 1.

The total modifier multiplies STAB, type effectiveness, weather, friendship, shadow, mega or primal boost, charge quality, and any custom multiplier. The floor step removes decimals before adding one. Final damage is never allowed to fall below one.

If calculated stat mode is selected, effective attack is (base attack + attack IV) × CPM. Effective defense is (base defense + defense IV) × CPM.

How To Use This Calculator

Enter the attacker, defender, and move name first. Add the move power from your battle data. Then choose direct stats or calculated stats. Direct stats are easier when you already know the effective values. Calculated mode is useful when you have base stats, IVs, and CP multipliers.

Select the correct STAB setting. Choose the type multiplier that matches the move and defender typing. Add weather only for raids or gyms. Add friendship, shadow, and mega effects when they apply. Use charged move quality only for trainer battle charge moves. Press calculate to see damage, DPS, KO hits, and estimated time to KO.

Pokémon GO Damage Statistics Guide

Why Damage Calculation Matters

Damage in Pokémon GO looks simple during battle. Yet many hidden values shape each hit. A strong move can feel weak when defense is high. A smaller move can shine with STAB and type advantage. This calculator helps compare those parts in one place.

Key Battle Inputs

Move power is the base value of the attack. Attack and defense are battle stats after level scaling. You may enter them directly. You may also build them from base stats, IVs, and CPM. This is helpful for raid teams, gym counters, and trainer battle planning.

Understanding Modifiers

STAB means same type attack bonus. It rewards a Pokémon using a move of its own type. Type effectiveness can raise or reduce damage heavily. Weather can boost matching moves in raids and gyms. Friendship bonuses may also improve raid damage. Shadow attackers deal more damage. Shadow defenders also take more damage.

Reading The Result

The final damage is rounded down before one is added. This floor step is important. Small modifier changes may not always change the final number. DPS divides the final damage by move duration. KO hits estimate how many uses defeat the target. Time to KO multiplies those hits by duration.

Best Practical Use

Use the tool for quick comparisons before raids. Test neutral and super effective matchups. Change one setting at a time. This makes the result easier to understand. Use custom modifier for special cases or future rule changes. Export the result when you need a clean battle note.

FAQs

What does this Pokémon GO damage calculator do?

It estimates move damage, DPS, KO hits, and time to KO using attack, defense, move power, and battle modifiers.

Does the calculator support raids and gyms?

Yes. Choose raid or gym mode. Weather and friendship bonuses are included when you select them.

Can I use it for trainer battles?

Yes. Select trainer battle mode. You can also apply charge move swipe quality for charged attacks.

What is STAB?

STAB means same type attack bonus. It applies when the move type matches one of the attacker’s types.

Why does the raw damage differ from final damage?

The formula floors the raw value before adding one. This removes decimals and creates the final damage number.

What is CPM?

CPM means CP multiplier. It scales base stats and IVs by Pokémon level in the battle stat calculation.

What should I enter for custom modifier?

Use 1 for normal cases. Enter another multiplier only when testing special boosts, research cases, or rule changes.

Are exported files generated from the result?

Yes. The CSV and PDF buttons export the visible result table after you calculate damage.
