Example Data Table

Use these sample values to compare common build styles.

Build Type Base Damage Crit Chance Crit Damage RPM Magazine Expected Use
Critical AR Build 100,000 55% 145% 850 50 Balanced burst and sustained pressure
Rifle Headshot Build 220,000 35% 110% 320 20 Higher precision damage
LMG Sustain Build 135,000 50% 125% 600 100 Long firing windows

Formula Used

Adjusted weapon damage = Base Damage × (1 + Weapon Bonus) × (1 + Team Buff)

Expected crit multiplier = 1 + (Critical Chance × Critical Damage)

Expected headshot multiplier = 1 + (Headshot Chance × Headshot Damage)

Expected armor shot = Adjusted Damage × Armor Bonus × Out-of-Cover Bonus × Amplified Bonus × Crit Multiplier × Headshot Multiplier

Burst DPS = Expected Shot × Rounds Per Second × Accuracy

Sustained DPS = Expected Shot × Magazine Size × Accuracy ÷ (Magazine Fire Time + Reload Time)

Target time = Total Shots ÷ Rounds Per Second + Reloads Needed × Reload Time

Understanding Division 2 Damage Statistics

A strong loadout is more than one large weapon number. The real result comes from many small multipliers. Weapon damage lifts the base hit. Critical chance decides how often extra critical damage appears. Headshot chance adds another expected layer. Armor, health, and out-of-cover bonuses change the value against different targets.

Why Expected Damage Matters

This calculator focuses on expected damage. That means it blends normal hits, critical hits, headshots, accuracy, fire rate, and reload time into one practical estimate. A build with huge burst damage can look powerful, yet lose value during long reloads. A lower hit value may win if it fires faster and reloads quickly.

Reading DPS Correctly

Burst DPS assumes the weapon keeps firing without reload breaks. Sustained DPS includes magazine size and reload time. Sustained DPS is usually better for comparing real fights. Time to target also matters because armor and health may use different bonus groups. The calculator separates armor shots and health shots so you can see where the build performs best.

Using the Results

Start with your weapon card damage. Add your weapon damage, critical chance, critical damage, headshot damage, target bonuses, and firing details. Then enter the target armor and health. Submit the form to view average shot value, burst DPS, sustained DPS, shots required, reloads, and time to target.

Practical Build Notes

Critical chance in many builds is capped in practice, so the calculator caps it at sixty percent. Accuracy lowers real output because missed bullets deal no damage. Out-of-cover damage can be very strong because many enemies leave cover during pressure. Damage to armor helps against armored bars, while health damage helps after armor breaks.

Better testing needs consistent inputs. Compare one change at a time. Keep the same target armor, health, range, and accuracy. Then test weapon talents, brand bonuses, mods, and buffs separately. This method makes upgrades easier to judge and avoids being misled by one lucky critical hit. Use the chart to spot weak areas quickly. If shot damage rises but sustained DPS falls, reload cost may be too high. If target time drops, the change is usually worth keeping for planning.

FAQs

1. What does this damage calculator estimate?

It estimates expected shot damage, burst DPS, sustained DPS, shots needed, reloads, and target time. It combines weapon damage, critical stats, headshot stats, accuracy, reload speed, and target bonuses.

2. Why is critical chance capped at 60%?

The calculator caps critical chance at 60% because many Division 2 builds treat that as the practical critical chance limit. Any entered value above 60% is shown as excess chance.

3. What is sustained DPS?

Sustained DPS includes reload time. It is usually more realistic than burst DPS because real fights include magazine limits and reload downtime.

4. What is burst DPS?

Burst DPS measures damage while the weapon is firing. It ignores reload downtime. It helps compare short damage windows, talent bursts, and opening pressure.

5. Why should I enter real accuracy?

Accuracy makes the result closer to gameplay. Missed bullets deal no damage, so lower accuracy reduces practical DPS and increases target time.

6. Does damage to armor affect health damage?

No. Damage to armor applies to the armor portion only. Damage to health applies after armor breaks, so the calculator separates both phases.

7. Can I export the result?

Yes. Use the CSV button for spreadsheet records. Use the PDF button for a simple report that can be saved or shared.

8. Is this an exact in-game simulator?

No. It is a practical planning calculator. Real game results may vary because of talents, enemy states, range, armor plates, buffs, debuffs, and hit registration.
