How the calculator removes VAT
1) Items Gross Total = Gross Amount Per Unit × Quantity
2) Total Before Discount = Items Gross Total + Shipping + Other Fees
3) Final Gross Total = Total Before Discount − Discount
4) VAT Divisor = 1 + (VAT Rate ÷ 100)
5) Net Total Excluding VAT = Final Gross Total ÷ VAT Divisor
6) VAT Removed = Final Gross Total − Net Total
7) Unit Net Price = Net Total ÷ Quantity
8) Unit VAT Amount = VAT Removed ÷ Quantity
This method assumes every money field entered into the form already includes VAT at the same rate.

FAQs
1) What does removing VAT mean?
It means converting a VAT-inclusive total into its base amount before tax. The calculator separates the gross value into net value and the VAT portion already included in the price.
2) Can I use this for receipts and invoices?
Yes. It works well when the listed amount already includes VAT. Enter the gross total, the applicable VAT rate, and any extra charges or discounts to see the net value.
3) Does quantity affect the result?
Yes. The calculator multiplies the gross unit amount by the quantity first. It then removes VAT from the combined total after adding shipping and fees and subtracting discounts.
4) Are shipping and extra fees treated as VAT-inclusive?
In this version, yes. Shipping and other fees are assumed to include VAT at the same rate as the main item. If your fee uses another tax rule, calculate it separately.
5) How are discounts handled?
Discounts reduce the VAT-inclusive total before the calculator removes VAT. This gives you both the net effect of the discount and the VAT portion contained within that discount.
6) Which rounding mode should I choose?
Use standard rounding for most general work. Use round up when you want conservative charge estimates. Use round down when you prefer lower displayed values for internal analysis.
7) What do the CSV and PDF buttons export?
CSV exports the main calculation values in a spreadsheet-friendly format. PDF saves the visible results section, including the summary table and chart, for reporting or recordkeeping.
8) Is this suitable for every country?
It is useful for general VAT-inclusive calculations, but tax rules differ by country and product type. Always confirm filing, invoicing, and compliance details with your local tax guidance.
