Formula Used

Countdown in seconds = Exam timestamp − Current timestamp

Total days remaining = Remaining seconds ÷ 86,400

Usable study days = Total days remaining − Buffer days

Topic progress (%) = (Completed topics ÷ Total topics) × 100

Topics needed per day = Topics left ÷ Usable study days

Mock progress (%) = (Completed mocks ÷ Planned mocks) × 100

Mocks needed per week = Mocks left ÷ (Usable study days ÷ 7)

Available study hours = Daily study hours × Study days per week × (Usable study days ÷ 7)

Score gap = Goal score − Current practice score

Readiness score = Weighted blend of topic progress, mock progress, hour coverage, and score progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does this calculator measure?

It measures remaining time until your exam and combines that with preparation inputs like topic completion, mock tests, study hours, and score targets.

2. Why should I enter a timezone?

Timezone selection keeps the countdown accurate when your exam is scheduled in a different region or when your device timezone does not match the test center.

3. What are buffer days?

Buffer days are protected days before the exam. They can be used for light revision, recovery, travel, or unexpected schedule delays.

4. How is readiness score calculated?

Readiness score uses weighted progress from topics, mock tests, score improvement, and available study-hour coverage. It gives a directional planning signal, not a guaranteed result.

5. Can I use this for multiple exams?

Yes. Run the calculator separately for each exam and compare countdowns, topic loads, and weekly mock needs to prioritize your schedule.

6. What does topics per day tell me?

It estimates the average number of remaining topics you should finish each usable day to stay on pace before the exam.

7. Why include mock tests?

Mock tests reveal stamina, timing, and exam technique. Tracking them helps convert remaining time into measurable performance practice.

8. Are CSV and PDF exports useful?

Yes. They help you save the current plan, share it with teachers or parents, and compare updates as your preparation changes.
