Enter Environmental Assessment Data
The calculator uses a responsive input grid: three columns on large screens, two on medium screens, and one on mobile.
Example Data Table
| Scenario | GHG (kg CO2e) | Energy (kWh) | Water (m³) | Haz. Waste (kg) | Toxicity | Recyclability % |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baseline Batch | 420 | 2600 | 42 | 24 | 58 | 36 |
| Optimized Solvent Recovery | 315 | 2100 | 30 | 15 | 49 | 52 |
| Renewable Feedstock Mix | 280 | 2250 | 34 | 18 | 45 | 61 |
Formula Used
Step 1: Normalize each impact input against a reference threshold.
Normalized Burden: Input Value / Reference Value
Step 2: Convert user weights into proportions.
Normalized Weight: Individual Weight / Sum of All Weights
Step 3: Multiply each normalized burden by its normalized weight and by 100.
Weighted Burden Index: Σ(Normalized Burden × Normalized Weight × 100)
Step 4: Convert burden into a positive score.
Environmental Impact Score: 100 − Weighted Burden Index
A higher score means lower environmental pressure. Recyclability and renewable content reduce burden through inverse treatment.
