Formula Used
Core calculations behind the results
  1. Room volume
    V = L × W × H
  2. General dilution airflow
    Metric: Q(m³/h) = ACH × V(m³)
    Imperial: Q(CFM) = (ACH × V(ft³)) ÷ 60
  3. Local exhaust airflow
    Q_local(CFM) = points × per‑point CFM
  4. Total with safety factor
    Q_total = (Q_general + Q_local) × (1 + safety%/100)
  5. Duct diameter from velocity
    Area: A = Q ÷ v, Diameter: d = √(4A/π)
  6. Fan power estimate
    P(W) = (Q(m³/s) × ΔP(Pa)) ÷ η

Defaults are practical design starting points. Always confirm requirements with local codes, project specs, and chemical safety data sheets.

How to Use
A quick workflow for consistent sizing
  1. Select your unit system for dimensions and flows.
  2. Choose hazard class and storage arrangement for defaults.
  3. Enter room dimensions to compute volume automatically.
  4. Pick a strategy and set safety factor for robustness.
  5. Optionally customize ACH, duct velocity, and pressure.
  6. Press calculate and export the report if needed.
