Example data table
| Scenario | Method | Geometry | Students | Circulation | Gross area (m²) | Area / student (m²) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard room | Rectangle | 8.5 × 6.0 m | 30 | 15% | ~66.3 | ~2.21 |
| Compact room | L-shape | 10 × 8 m minus 3 × 2 m | 28 | 12% | ~93.6 | ~3.34 |
| Split plan | Zones | (6×5) + (4×3) m | 24 | 18% | ~61.2 | ~2.55 |
Example outputs use teacher zone 4 m² and storage allowance 5%.
Formula used
- Rectangle area: A = L × W
- Circle area: A = π × (D/2)²
- Triangle area: A = 0.5 × Base × Height
- L-shape area: A = (Outer L × Outer W) − (Cutout L × Cutout W)
- Zone total area: A = Σ(Lᵢ × Wᵢ) for each rectangle zone
- Storage allowance: Astorage = Anet × (Storage% / 100)
- Net + allowances: Anet+ = Anet + Ateacher + Astorage
- Gross planning area: Agross = Anet+ × (1 + Circulation% / 100)
- Area per student: APS = Agross / Students
- Max students at target: floor(Agross / TargetAPS)
