Example data table
Sample values for a single elevation with openings and waste.
| Scenario | Width | Height | Gable Height | Openings Area | Waste | Area w/ Waste (sqm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Front elevation | 18.0 m | 8.0 m | 2.0 m | 20.0 m² | 7% | 142.53 |
| Side elevation | 24.0 m | 7.0 m | 0.0 m | 16.0 m² | 5% | 159.60 |
| Envelope (L×W) | 30.0 m | 3.2 m | Stories: 2 | 48.0 m² | 6% | 353.28 |
Numbers are illustrative; verify site dimensions before ordering materials.
Formula used
- Elevation rectangle: Area = Width × Height
- Optional gable (triangle): Area = 0.5 × Width × Gable Height
- Building envelope: Area = Perimeter × Wall Height × Stories
- Custom panels: Area = Σ(Panel Width × Panel Height × Quantity)
- Net area: Net = Gross − Openings
- Waste allowance: With Waste = Net × (1 + Waste% / 100)
How to use this calculator
- Select your input unit and the calculation method.
- Enter facade dimensions using the method section shown.
- Add openings as a total area or as a detailed list.
- Set a waste factor and optional cost rate for budgeting.
- Optionally add panel size to estimate panel count.
- Press Calculate to view results above the form.
- Use the download buttons to export a CSV or PDF report.
Notes and practical tips
- For complex elevations, use Custom panels and break the facade into rectangles.
- Openings should include rough openings when ordering cladding.
- Waste depends on layout, cuts, corners, and access constraints.
- For paint, convert area using product coverage data sheets.
