Formula used
  • Room area = length × width.
  • Perimeter = 2 × (length + width).
  • Waste‑adjusted area = area × (1 + waste%/100).
  • Per‑area material = waste‑adjusted area × price per area.
  • Per‑box material = ceil(waste‑adjusted area ÷ coverage per box) × price per box.
  • Labor = total area × labor rate per area.
  • Underlayment and adhesive = total area × respective rate.
  • Trim = total perimeter × trim/baseboard rate.
  • Pre‑tax subtotal = materials + labor + underlayment + adhesive + trim + flat extras.
  • Contingency = pre‑tax subtotal × contingency%.
  • Tax = (pre‑tax subtotal + contingency) × tax%.
  • Grand total = pre‑tax subtotal + contingency + tax.
