Example Data
| Example | Description | Inputs | Expected weight (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rectangular panel | 2000×1000 mm, 6 mm, soda‑lime | ~30 kg |
| 2 | Laminated panel | 2500×1200 mm, 6+6 with 0.76 PVB | ~95 kg |
| 3 | Round tabletop | Diameter 1000 mm, 10 mm, soda‑lime | ~49 kg |
Formula used
Weight = Area × Areal density × Quantity × (1 + Waste%/100)
Areal density (kg/m²) = Σ(thicknessi in m × densityi in kg/m³)
- Rectangle area = L × W
- Circle area = π × (D/2)²
- Half circle = ½ × π × (D/2)²
- Quarter circle = ¼ × π × (D/2)²
- Triangle area = ½ × base × height
- Net area = Panel area − Σ Cutout areas × quantities
Densities used (defaults): soda‑lime 2500 kg/m³, borosilicate 2230 kg/m³, aluminosilicate 2600 kg/m³, PVB 1100 kg/m³, SGP 950 kg/m³.
How to use
- Choose Simple for single‑ply panels or Advanced to build laminates.
- Select your unit system and panel shape, then enter dimensions.
- For cutouts, select shape, provide size, and quantity if applicable.
- Pick a glass type and thickness, or add layers in Advanced.
- Set quantity and optional waste allowance to cover breakage or offcuts.
- Click Calculate to update results; Add to table to save.
- Use Download CSV for spreadsheets or Download PDF to share.
